Head down to Nathan Phillips Square from July 8 to 10, 2011, and soak in the sunshine and artwork at the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition. Admission is Free. Artists display their works along the sides of the square. And if you so happen to fall in love with a particular piece of artwork, it can be yours for a price (prices range from $40 to $40,000). This year marks the 50th anniversary of this exhibition, so if you have time, do check it out.

Citytv’s New Year’s Eve Bash 2011 at Nathan Phillips Square

Usher in the new year with Citytv’s 26th annual New Year’s Eve Bash. Time: 10:00 p.m. Bundle up and get to Nathan Phillips Square early for a good spot. Admission is FREE. Citytv’s Gord Martineau, Tracy Moore, Kevin Frankish and Dina Pugliese will be there to host this year’s concert.

Live performances include Shawn Desman, Danny Fernandes, Stereos, Divine Brown, Blake McGrath and others.

Free Event, 44th Annual Cavalcade of Lights at Nathan Phillips Square

Last week it was the Santa Claus parade. This week, Scotiabank presents the 44th Annual Cavalcade of Lights at Nathan Phillips Square on Saturday, November 27, 2010. This isn’t just a lighting of a Christmas tree, it’s the lighting of Toronto’s official Christmas tree, which means everyone is going to have a great time. Admission is Free. So bring your family and all your friends.

The tree lighting begins at 7:00 p.m., followed by fireworks and live music by Wade O. Brown, Shawn Desman, Divine Brown, and Sarah Slean. Bring your skates and stay for the skating party with DJ Tony Sutherland celebrating 40 years of the JUNO Awards.

From July 9 through July 11, 2010, three days of creativity will grace Nathan Phillips Square at the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition. Admission is FREE. This exhibition features more than 500 artists showing works of art in painting, ceramics, photography, sculpture and more.

Hours are:

Friday & Saturday 10:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Sunday 10:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

CTV is celebrating the 2010 Winter Games with a FREE outdoor event at Nathan Phillips Square on February 20, 2010. Time: 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Enjoy FREE live performances from Justin Hines, Fefe Dobson and the Barenaked Ladies. There will be interactive sport zones and cultural pavilions, a MuchMusic Celebration Theatre, RBC Olympic Ice Hockey Shoot-out, CTV Aerial Show, as well as live coverage of the 2010 Winter Games on large video screens.

Citytv’s New Year’s Eve Bash 2010 at Nathan Phillips Square

Head to Nathan Phillips Square on December 31, 2009, and usher in the new year with Citytv’s 25th annual New Year’s Eve Bash. You’ll have to get there early to secure a good spot (last year’s bash took in more 40,000 people). Admission is FREE. Pre-show starts at 9:00 p.m., with live streaming at Citytv.com at 10:00 p.m. Wear a warm coat, and bring a thermos of something hot to drink, and a thick blanket to help shield the cold.

Celebrations include a huge open-air concert hosted by Gord Martineau, Tracy Moore, Kevin Frankish, and Dina Pugliese. Get ready to sing, sway and dance to some of the hottest musical talent around. Kardinal, Karl Wolf, Jarvis Church, Faber Drive, The Mission District, and Anjulie will be at there to ring in the new year with style.

43rd Annual Cavalcade of Lights – Nathan Phillips Square

The place to be on November 28, 2009 is Nathan Phillips Square. Bring the family out to see the lighting of Toronto’s official Christmas tree at the Cavalcade of Lights. Admission is FREE.

The lighting of the Christmas tree starts at 7:00 p.m., followed by musical performances by Steven Page, Matt Dusk, Keshia Chante and Fritz Helder & the Phantoms. Watch fireworks light up the skies at 8:00 p.m. And then stay for the skating party (with music provided by DJ Tony Sutherland).

Festivities continue every Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. until December 31, 2009. FREE Concerts and skating party music provided by:
