Get into the Christmas spirit this weekend. Ten Thousand Villages Christmas Festival will be at the Harbourfront Centre from Friday, November 27 to 29, 2009. It’s all about fair trade and supporting more than 35 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. You’ll find beautiful handcrafted items such as: pottery, jewellery, home and personal accessories, carpets, toys, games, unique art, Christmas decorations, and many more. Admission is FREE.
Relax and sample traditional Mennonite baking at the Tea Room. Then join in the caroling on Friday and Saturday by members of the Pax Christi Chorale. Best of all, you’ll leave with a good feeling that you’re supporting more than 130 artisans from these countries.
